Transparent to Transparent Welding EvoClear
Laser Welding of Transparent Plastics
EvoClear enables the laser welding of transparent plastic components, allowing high-quality and visually flawless joints without the need for absorbing materials. This process is ideal for applications where optical clarity, design, and material purity are essential.
By precisely controlling the energy input, transparent components can be joined reliably while maintaining their visual and functional properties.
The EvoClear process supports stable and reproducible results, even for demanding geometries and sensitive materials. It integrates seamlessly into automated production environments and enables efficient manufacturing of high-quality plastic components.
This makes transparent-to-transparent laser welding a powerful solution for applications in medical, consumer, and other high-end industries.
Technology
In EvoClear welding, both joining partners (LT1 and LT2) consist of transparent materials and are pre-assembled before the welding process. The components are arranged in an overlap configuration and pressed together with a defined force to ensure uniform contact and optimal process conditions.
During welding, the laser energy passes through both transparent parts. A controlled portion of the energy is absorbed within the materials, causing localized heating and melting of both joining partners. In the contact zone, the molten materials fuse together, forming a strong, durable, and visually clear weld seam without affecting the optical appearance of the components.
This process is particularly suitable for applications where the use of absorbing additives is not permitted, enabling high-quality joining of transparent components while maintaining material purity and design requirements.
